Eddie steps down as chair of Lincoln Business Club
Councillor and businessman Eddie Strengiel is to stand down as Chairman of Lincoln Business Club after six years in the role.
Eddie was one of the founder members of the club whose aims are to encourage networking among Lincoln businesses and to raise money for charitable causes.
When the group was set up in 2004 it had 28 members but under Eddie's direction membership has grown to more than 550.
Now members are set to vote for a new chairman or chairwoman and elect or re-elect committee members at the club's Annual General Meeting at the end of July.
"I've decided to step down as Chairman in view of my added responsibilities on City of Lincoln Council and Lincolnshire County Council," said Eddie.
"The changes the club has gone through in six short years have been extraordinary and we've donated a lot of money to charity - £1,200 to four charities last year alone."
Members can now nominate a new chairman or chairwoman as well as other committee roles, including secretary and treasurer, by emailing nicki@aneyeforbusiness.co.uk
They can also make suggestions as to which two charities should benefit from donations this year.
"We look forward to welcoming as many of our members as possible to the AGM on Friday 30th July," said Eddie.
"I will be sorry to be presiding over my last meeting as Chairman but I'm confident that I will be leaving the club in capable hands."
